I had no idea what to expect when I went to Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant in Greensboro, NC.
But I can say I was highly impressed to say the least.
We had a reservation for 2:45 pm. It was a little busy, but we were seated shortly.
If you are looking for a place where great wine, great dishes, and an inviting atmosphere all come together Cooper's Hawk should be on your list.
If not at the top!
Our recent visit was memorable and one I would repeat.
From start to finish I noticed the creativity and quality of the restaurant and their wine program.

Starting the Afternoon: Rose, Moscato, & Sparkling Bubbles
Before we received our entree, we decided to sample some of the wine:
Rose - Bright, crisp, and lightly floral with a refreshing finish
Moscato - Sweet, smooth, and aromatic and not overwhelming --- excellent if you want something softer and fruit forward to sip on.
We also decided to try the Bubbles Flight.
One of the highlights of the afternoon.
It consisted of four of their sparkling selections.
Each brought a unique flavor to the table.
Lux Sparkling - Had an elegant, refined, and clean taste with a hint of citrus
Prosecco - It was light, bubbly, and balanced drink suited for sipping
Bubbly Rose - Some berry notes, crisp and effervescent
Almond Sparkling - Something different, semi-sweet to me, with soft almond --- a fun surprise
The tasting was perfect and blended in with the tone of the afternoon --- playful, flavorful, and exciting.
The Entrees:
I ordered the Prime Churrasco Steak, and my wife ordered the Gnocchi Carbonara both were stand out dishes.
Prime Churrasco Grilled Steak

My steak was medium well and cooked perfectly.
Tender, juicy, and seasoned, with the right balance of that smokiness.
No additional flavor needed!
Every bite was flavorful, and the char of the grill added the perfect touch.
Gnocchi Carbonara

The gnocchi were soft and the carbonara sauce was rich and creamy.
I would definitely put it in the category of refined with classic comfort food warmth.
It was definitely tasty!
The Sweet Finale: House-Made Truffles

Honestly the entrees were enough.
But no meal is complete without a delicious dessert!
And the house-made truffles did not disappoint.
We had the following:
Dark Chocolate Peppermint Truffle - Deep, rich cocoa flavor with a hint of peppermint
White Chocolate Truffle - Silky smooth, sweet and balanced taste
On the side - Raspberry sauce (forgive me if I am mistaken) and whip cream
Handcrafted, luxurious, and a treat for the taste buds!
Perfect ending to a perfect meal!
Final Thoughts
Overall, Cooper's Hawk Restaurant and Winery provided an excellent dining experience.
I spent about 86$, call it an even 100$ with the tip, well spent money.
I definitely enjoyed tasting the various wines.
The dishes we had were excellently prepared. Excellent presentation.
If you enjoy wine flights, a welcoming atmosphere, then you should definitely give Cooper's Hawk a try!
And the playlist wasn't bad either!
Next time I'm taking a bottle home!
P.S. - The Cooper's Hawk Scarletto was a sweet surprise!
